About the role

The Manager, Safety Systems will lead the development, governance, and maintenance of HIQ's safety management systems, ensuring compliance across the division. Acting as the subject matter expert, this role will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Health, Regulators, and Building Contractors. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee HIQ's safety management systems, drive risk identification, and provide strategic advice to senior leadership, utilising your deep knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and standards.

We're seeking a dynamic Manager with expertise in Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and the Department of Health Safety Management Framework. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and enhancing organisation-wide WHS management systems in complex environments.
  • Strong skills in risk identification, policy development, and creating responsive action plans.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a track record of building strong relationships with senior leadership teams.
