The Principal Analyst, Statistical Services Branch (SSB) will analyse health related data, interpret and communicate results of such analyses, including appropriate reporting (written or oral) as required to provide information to assist Queensland Health in planning, managing, monitoring and evaluation activities. You will ensure appropriate use, presentation and interpretation of health-related statistical information being released by the Statistical Services Branch (SSB), and work towards the development of new and/or existing channels by which to release and disseminate statistics and statistical information and provide specialist advice and consultancy services to other areas within Queensland Health regarding statistical methods and analytical procedures. About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- High level of knowledge and experience in statistical methods and concepts and demonstrated ability to appropriately use statistical procedures and interpret statistical information in a health context.
- High level of programming, data manipulation and analysis ability, including experience using statistical programming packages to interrogate, extract, and manipulate data, conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analysis and produce figures and tables, and experience with large and complex data sets and relational databases.
- High level of interpersonal skills and written communication skills, including ability to consult with personnel at all levels in the organisation, external organisations and professional groups, ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience, and report writing skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and to effectively monitor and co-ordinate staff to achieve outcomes and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage and develop members of a professional team in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices.
