The Senior Director, Prevention and Digital Health role provides statewide strategic system leadership and recognised subject matter expertise in health promotion and chronic disease prevention, contributing to strengthening prevention capability within HWQld and supporting the broader Queensland prevention ecosystem.

The role operates at an executive level, providing strategic advice to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, and leading collaboration across government, health services and the prevention sector.

It drives innovation, digital transformation and scalable prevention initiatives that improve access to evidence-based care, strengthen system capability, and help reduce pressure on the health system.

Your opportunity
As the Senior Director - Prevention and Digital Health, you will be involved in:

• Providing high-level expertise in the application of evidence, policy, and systems thinking to inform the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of preventive health strategies across diverse settings and populations, ensuring focus on the delivery of equity informed actions to respond to population groups with the greatest capacity to benefit.
• Providing high-level strategic leadership and subject matter expertise in health promotion and the prevention of chronic diseases, ensuring alignment with HWQld's strategic priorities.
• Leading and managing the development and implementation of strategic reforms and initiatives to enhance HWQld's capacity to address the increasing burden of chronic disease.
• Providing executive sponsorship and strategic oversight of priority initiatives by leading digital transformation activities that enable innovative and scalable statewide prevention approaches. Focus on building the organisation's digital maturity, championing the vision of digital transformation, and collaborating with internal and external experts to build capability and guide digital health initiatives across the agency.
• Acting as the professional lead for Health Practitioner disciplines within HWQld, providing leadership in health promotion practice, prevention and population health approaches, ensuring alignment with contemporary professional standards.
