About the role

Ensure excellence in forensic mental health service delivery, through the provision of strategic and professional advice, as well as clinical and operational leadership to Metro North Mental Health's Forensic Mental Health Services. These services operate across a number of HHSs and include the Community Forensic Outreach service (CFOS – covering from Gold Coast to Central Queensland), Court Liaison Services (CLS – covering from Gold Coast to Sunshine Coast), the Indigenous Mental Health Intervention Program (IMHIP – currently operating in three correctional centres in the south-east), and Policing and Mental Health Programs with Statewide coverage including the Queensland Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (QFTAC), and the Police Communications Centre Mental Health Liaison Service (PCC-MHLS – also including the mental health support of police negotiators program). 

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Utilise clinical and forensic mental health expertise to maintain a level of clinical input into services and to provide clinical leadership around complex cases.
  • Represent forensic mental health services in Metro North Mental Health (MNMH) executive meetings as required and as delegated by the Statewide Director of Operations and Strategy QFMHS.
  • Maintain professional accountabilities through active engagement in continuing professional education and clinical supervision to develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise and to maintain relevant credentialing requirements as defined by Metro North Mental Health Allied Health Services. This includes participation in service area and Allied Health Leadership group meetings and data collection requirements.
