About the role

Casual opportunity to contribute to consumer care by undertaking a range of clinical support activities and on-the-job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire an entry level mandatory qualification for employment as a Health Practitioner (either Social Worker or Occupational Therapist) in Queensland. The cadet will work under the delegation and supervision of an allied health professional in the provision of effective consumer care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide education to consumers and their families and carers on a defined range of topics including psychoeducation.
• Refer to and liaise with other care providers to achieve streamlined consumer care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development training and development activities as well as maintaining mandatory training requirements.
• Manage time effectively, including handing over incomplete tasks and completing documentation by the end of shift.
