About the role
Temporary part time opportunity to provide high level consultation, advice and support for staff within Metro North Mental Health (MNMH) to facilitate culturally responsive mental health care to consumers and their families from culturally and linguistically (CALD) diverse backgrounds. Develop strategies to build the capacity of MNMH to respond to the clinical needs of people from CALD backgrounds and build awareness within CALD communities of the availability and accessibility of local mental health services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver high level clinical consultation for consumers from CALD backgrounds including assessment, diagnosis and input into treatment planning, promoting application of evidence-based care, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Facilitate access to relevant training, education and development in relation to available resources, and cross-cultural practice issues when working with consumers from CALD backgrounds.
- Provide clinical practice supervision and mentoring to less experienced practitioners to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within the mental health service, specifically around CALD consumer care.
