About the role

Deliver a high standard and comprehensive range of drug and alcohol services to individuals, families, groups, and community members, including but not limited to clinical assessment and treatment services in accordance with harm minimisation policy and practice and community priorities to reduce harm associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and coordinate and participate in all other prevention and intervention activities undertaken by the multidisciplinary ATODS service. The position is community based, and the incumbent will be expected to work with a broad range of individuals, groups and organisations to meet the objectives identified.

Requirements

      • Psychologists: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Psychology and eligible for current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) – Psychology.
      • Social Workers: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Social Work providing eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers. Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
      • Occupational Therapists: Mandatory possession of a degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for current registration (APHRA) – Occupational Therapist.
      • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
      • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
      • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
      • A period of probation may apply.
