About the role
This role is one of two positions responsible for workplace and industrial relations (IR) capability services across the Metro North Hospital and Health Service. Each role will have a dedicated portfolio of facilities / directorates. The position of Manager, Workplace Relations will drive consistency of practice and high-level specialist advice. The position will lead a team of Workplace Relations Advisors to provide advice on industrial relations, complex case management, and industrial framework and policy support to organisational stakeholders.
About you
This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Research and provide complex advice on awards, industrial instruments, and entitlements.
- Lead and manage the coordination of a highly specialised workplace and industrial relations and case management service.
- Provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice and support to all client groups in the Health Service on complex workforce matters.
- Manage and provide practical advice, guidance and coaching to all levels of the workforce in the case management of performance, discipline, absenteeism, and other workforce related issues.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end resolution of ill-heath cases.
- Manage, coordinate and oversight of industrial representation at tribunals, hearings, and meetings.
- Engage, consult with, and development positive and sustainable working relationships with unions regarding complex and routine workforce matters, including organisational change.
