About the role
- The General Practitioner with Special Interest (GPwSI) function as a member of the Virtual Emergency Care Services (VECS) team providing high quality health care to Queenslanders in acute need, within the Scope of Clinical Practice as a General Practitioner.
- The GPwSI role will work under the line management and supported by Specialist medical officers with appropriate clinical governance oversight by the relevant department. There will be opportunities for training, education and taking part in quality activities such as research, clinical audit, safety and service planning.
- The service operates extended hours over a seven-day week with a requirement to provide out of hours duties as well as a requirement to provide overtime as clinically required.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide an Emergency Medicine virtual consultative service to all patients and clinicians across Queensland.
- Provide patient-centric, clinically astute support and guidance to all those who use the service.
- Maintain competence and accurate utilisation of digital records and IT systems.
- Ensure documentation of assessment and outcomes of all clinical interactions.
- Perform duties as determined by the STARS Directorate, and as directed by the Clinical Director.
- Perform any other duties directed by the relevant Clinical Director within your credentialled Scope of Clinical
