Metro North Health has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Safety Advisor and Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator to partner with stakeholders to deliver best practice advisory services and solutions to drive Metro North’s proactive safety culture and ensure the wellbeing of all our staff, visitors and patients. This is a dynamic role working closely with frontline teams, coaching leaders and enhancing safety systems to support the delivery of excellent healthcare. We are looking for a confident safety and rehabilitation professional with practical knowledge and experience who has a passion and commitment to helping others thrive safely at work. About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to contribute to the effective development and delivery of professional workplace health and safety and workplace rehabilitation and return to work services. Identify and drive safety solutions through effective planning and a proven capability within a large diverse healthcare environment
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Function as an effective Safety and Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator allocated to supporting seamless strategic, tactical and operational Health and Safety and Workplace Rehabilitation advice within a large healthcare environment.
- Contribute to the development and support the drive of an effective, durable and contemporary health and safety governance framework, strategy and culture to meet Hospital and Health Service needs, ensuring compliance measures are addressed (e.g. Work Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislation, Australian Council on Healthcare Standards)
- Strong communication skills that maintain effective professional and consultative relationships, that builds knowledge, develops skills, values differences with stakeholders and local team members with an ability to manage challenges with integrity, tact and diplomacy
- Coordinate, manage and provide support and advice to all stakeholders through the investigation of serious accidents and incidents.
