About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to provide technical and expert support and advice to researchers and conduct review and provide recommendations with regards to the Site-Specific Assessment (SSA) authorisation of research in Metro North, aligning with strategic and operational objectives, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines pertaining to research in Australia.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide technical, high-level advice and support to MNH researchers, clients and stakeholders regarding Site-Specific Assessment (SSA) requirements, in a complex and diverse research environment, including assessment of resource and operational requirements that are critical to the needs of the research study being undertaken.
- Undertake timely review of SSA applications for low-risk human research, animal research and basic science research not involving humans/animals and make recommendations around approval to the delegated authority, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Utilise specialist knowledge in research governance to lead the review and negotiation of standard and non-standard research contractual agreements with external stakeholders to safeguard the interests of MNH including insurance cover, funding and intellectual property arrangements.
