We are seeking a dynamic Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to lead and inspire our inclusive education programs.

In this leadership role, you will support inclusive education practices and ensure that all students—regardless of ability—are empowered to achieve academic success.

This is a temporary full-time position (from Terms 2-4), until 12 December 2025 unless otherwise determined, with possible extension.

About the Role

As the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES), you will be critical in driving the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's inclusive and differentiated curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.

You will have skills in leading, working collaboratively and developing capability across teams. You will work closely with teachers, leadership, and students to enhance instructional practices and support student success. 

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance to related legislation and policies
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction through professional development, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Analyse student achievement data to inform curriculum improvements and targeted interventions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing innovative teaching methodologies and best practices.
  • Ensure curriculum inclusivity and differentiation to cater to diverse student learning needs.
  • Manage resources effectively to support differentiated teaching and teacher capacity building.
  • Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
  • Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
  • Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
