About the Role

As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate high-quality advice and support from the Special Education and Early Childhood Development Programs.
  • Lead and manage these programs, providing advice to classroom teachers for students with disabilities as needed.
  • Offer high-quality advice to school leadership and staff to plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
  • Coordinate and provide targeted teaching for students needing intervention.
  • Provide and coordinate case management for students requiring significant adjustments.
  • Support staff in accessing specialist services and professional development.
  • Engage in school decision-making and professional development to contribute to school goals and vision.
  • Implement and manage school-wide systems to monitor and record the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
  • Form partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disabilities.
  • Manage human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve goals.
