Deputy Principal - Mango Hill State Secondary College

An exciting leadership opportunity awaits for an inspiring and experienced educator to join the executive team at Mango Hill State Secondary College. This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

As Deputy Principal - Teaching & Learning, you will lead the strategic direction of teaching and learning across the College. You will drive curriculum development, effective pedagogical practice, and quality assurance processes, ensuring alignment with college priorities and the Australian Curriculum. Your leadership will span key areas including moderation, differentiation, data-informed practice, and College-wide literacy and numeracy improvement.

About Mango Hill State Secondary College

Established in 2020, our rapidly growing College caters to students in Years 7-12 and is proudly guided by our vision of cultivating a community of Respectful, Engaged, Aspiring Learners—empowering young people for the world of tomorrow.

About the Role

In addition to your whole-of-college responsibilities, you will have specific oversight of student management for Years 9 and 10, with a focus on behaviour, engagement, and attendance. Your role will be central in supporting students through the middle phase of schooling, building strong connections between curriculum, wellbeing, and pathways.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership in curriculum, pedagogy, and school improvement.
  • Expertise in driving high-impact, data-informed teaching strategies.
  • Ability to lead change, build team capacity, and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Strong relational, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for every student.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
