About the Role
The Deputy Principal - School Culture & Inclusion is a key leadership position at Narangba Valley State High School (NVSHS), responsible for fostering a positive school culture that promotes student engagement, wellbeing, and academic success.
This role leads the school's approach to Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), the House system, the student support framework, and First Nations education, ensuring that every student is supported to reach their potential. The Deputy Principal also oversees student transition programs, building strong relationships with feeder primary schools to support a seamless transition into high school. Additionally, the role contributes to the school's strategic direction and improvement agenda, models and promotes the school's values and expectations, and collaborates with the Principal and Deputy Principal team to ensure a positive and inclusive school environment.
A key aspect of this role is leading student wellbeing initiatives and overseeing the Organisational Health Plan to support staff wellbeing. This involves working closely with the Wellbeing Committee to review and implement strategies that enhance staff morale, work-life balance, and professional support. Additionally, the Deputy Principal plays a vital role in student leadership development, supporting student leaders across all year levels to foster leadership skills, school pride, and active student voice.
Each Deputy Principal at NVSHS also leads a year-level team dedicated to the wellbeing, engagement, and academic achievement of students. This role is currently responsible for Year 9, working closely with the Year Level Leader, Year Level Guidance Officer, Case Managers and support staff to drive student success.
