EOI - Teacher Aide - Ashgrove State School

Ashgrove State School is seeking applications from an energetic, honest, and reliable Teacher Aide to join our team on an expression of interest basis.

As a Teacher Aide, you will contribute to the provision of quality educational services by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

The position is for three days per week: Monday and Friday from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, and Tuesday from 8:15 am to 1:00 pm, providing support to our Learning Support Team.

This role is temporary until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.

Your Opportunity 

As the Teacher Aide, you will:

  • Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school. When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the Teacher Aide, your opportunities and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families.
  • The compiling and supervising of class rolls.
