Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

QASMT is seeking a high calibre and experienced senior leader to work with a dynamic leadership team in shaping the future direction of QSMT. This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined and incorporates the duties of Head of Department, Student Services.

QASMT is an academically selective, co-educational state school catering to highly capable students in Years 7 to 12. QASMT offers the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programme (IB MYP/DP) as the core curriculum. About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.
  • Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
  • Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
