About the School:
Fortitude Valley State Secondary College is the first school to be opened in the inner city Brisbane in over 50 years. Our school opened in 2020 with 140 Year 7 students and currently has 840 students enrolled in years 7 to 12. Our first Year 12 cohort will graduate this year.

About the Role:
In this key role, you will lead and manage the school's finance, administration, human resources, and facilities functions. You will also work closely with the Principal and executive leadership team, providing high-level strategic advice to support effective planning and resource allocation. The successful applicant will be collaborative, flexible, and outcomes-focused, with strong leadership, change management, and communication skills.
Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide high-level strategic and operational advice to the Principal and executive leadership team across all business functions, supporting school improvement and service delivery.
- Team Leadership & Workforce Planning: Lead, supervise, and develop a multidisciplinary team of support staff, aligning workforce capabilities with the school's strategic and operational priorities.
- Financial Management: Oversee the development, monitoring, and reporting of the school's budget. Ensure financial operations comply with legislation, departmental policy, and audit requirements.
- Facilities & Asset Management: Coordinate facilities planning, infrastructure projects, and maintenance. Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to manage works and optimise resource use.
- Business Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement by assessing business processes, implementing efficiencies, and supporting change management initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a key liaison between the school, community, and departmental networks.
Additional Information:
Please note that the campus does not have on-site parking. Candidates will need to consider options for public transport or paid parking facilities. The area is well-serviced by public bus and rail, and the school includes end-of-trip facilities such as showers, lockers, and bicycle storage.
