Kallangur State School is seeking two dedicated and experienced educators to join our leadership team as Literacy Pedagogical Coaches. In these roles and reporting directly to the Principal, the successful applicants will lead the coordination of literacy-focused coaching and mentoring, supporting staff to strengthen their instructional practices using evidence-based approaches. The positions will focus on developing and embedding high-impact teaching strategies in reading, writing, and language development, while fostering a collaborative professional learning culture.

Kallangur State School has a long history of providing quality education for all students. 

As key members of the leadership team, the Literacy Pedagogical Coaches will drive the implementation of targeted literacy programs and contribute to the achievement of whole-school improvement priorities through innovative, data-informed practice.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in implementing high-quality literacy practices aligned with Science of Reading
  • Conduct regular meetings with teachers to examine student work and assessment data monitoring student progress, identifying next steps, and supporting teacher reflection and targeted action for improvement.
  • Work directly with teachers by modelling effective literacy strategies and/or team teaching, providing hands-on support to build teacher capacity and confidence in delivering literacy instruction.
  • Facilitate the coordination of coaching and mentoring practices that promote professional growth, improve teacher capability, and align with the school's literacy goals and improvement agenda.
  • As key members of the leadership team, contribute to the development, implementation, and review of targeted literacy programs and strategies that support whole-school improvement priorities and drive measurable student outcomes.

  • A relevant teaching qualification. Click here for further information on teaching qualifications.
  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.   • In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information on blue cards and exemption cards, please CLICK HERE.
  • Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department.
