This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role
As the Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the science department, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining laboratory resources.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and managing scientific materials, equipment, and chemical solutions for laboratory use.
- Maintaining laboratory safety protocols, waste disposal systems, and accurate inventory records.
- Providing technical advice to teaching staff and promoting STEM initiatives to enhance student engagement.
- Assisting with field trip preparations, stocktaking, and budget management within the science department.
- Collaborating with external organisations and maintaining laboratory protocols and methods.
This role would suit a motivated individual with a passion for science and education, who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
