Kenmore State High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated educator to join their executive leadership team.

There are 6 Head of Department positions at Kenmore State High School, one for each Year level, referred to locally as Heads of Year.

This Head of Department - Student Services position will have a focus in 2026 on Year 7 and involves working closely with students, parents, and teachers to support students into and through their first year of secondary schooling.

Founded in 1972, the school has grown to an enrolment of around 2000 students.

About the Role:

As the Head of Department - Student Services, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Lead initiatives that enhance the Engagement, Belonging, Wellbeing and Behaviour Support of every student in your year level.
  • Work with the Student Support Services Team to provide support and intervention with students who are experiencing significant barriers in accessing their learning through academic, behaviour and/or social emotional engagement concerns.
  • Implement year level events in partnership with the Shadow Heads of Year for whole cohort activities to develop a sense of year level identity and belonging (e.g. Year level assemblies, meaning projects and celebrations).
  • Promote positive education (PERMAH) to embed practices that support every student to flourish in their education at Kenmore SHS.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and support staff of students in your year level to provide support and guidance for students when needed.
  • Uphold the school values and expectations through your strong leadership skills.
