Dakabin State High School is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to join the team in this exciting role, working 4 days per week.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.8FTE), 58 hours per fortnight.

Who We Are:
Dakabin State High School focuses on providing rich and engaging learning experiences for students to learn, grow and achieve whilst maintaining high academic standards.
Dakabin State High School has a Student Wellbeing Team which comprises of Guidance Officers, Social Worker, Youth Support Coordinator, Chaplain, GP in Schools and School Based Youth Health Nurse.
This team work collaboratively with the staff from Queensland Children's Health employed in the Dakabin Youth Hub located at the front of the school.
Dakabin State High School has approximately 10% First Nations population and this role would work alongside the Student Support Officer from the Bronco's Academy who supports the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander females enrolled in the Academy.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across a number of schools.
- Participate in the development of activities, in and out of school, likely to enhance the involvement in education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families.
- Develop and undertake support service programs designed to meet the needs of the school/s that will encourage the educational participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students.
- Establish and maintain links with out of school sources of information and support services to assist in the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and students.
