Murrumba State Secondary School is looking for two part time Teacher Aides to become part of the Murrumba Pride, contributing to our vision of Our Engaged Community, Learning for Life.

Your role supports students and staff across various areas of the College.

This temporary vacancy is open to expressions of interest from motivated applicants.

We have two positions of 25 hours available (5 hours per day plus SJM).

Who We Are:

Since opening in 2012, we have had a clear and unrelenting focus on fostering a positive and engaging learning environment in which every young learner develops a sense of belonging and is inspired to shape their preferred future. 

Our College is situated in one of Brisbane's northern suburbs, approximately 20kms from the city centre. 

We started with only 324 students in years 7 and 8 upon opening and reached maturity in 2016, as our foundation Year 8s became the inaugral Year 12 cohort. 

Today, the College has over 1700 students, and we have built an enviable reputation in the local community as the first-choice education provider.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

Teacher Aides at Murrumba State Secondary College contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

The assistance required may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the College.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students including the delivery of first aid. Where the teacher aide is required to administer first aid, the teacher aide would be required to be formally trained in the administration of first aid, and keep such qualifications current. All costs associated with obtaining and maintaining qualifications would be met from school funds.
  • Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
