Aviation High School are seeking an innovative and passionate educational leader to join the leadership team at Aviation High School as Head of Department - Junior Secondary and Humanities, commencing Semester 2, 2026.
This dynamic leadership role is responsible for leading Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Humanities across Years 7-12, driving excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum leadership, and student achievement.
The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering the school’s vision while fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

About the Role
The Head of Department - Junior Secondary / Humanities will:
- Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning practices across Junior Secondary and Humanities.
- Drive curriculum development, pedagogical improvement, and student achievement outcomes.
- Support and mentor staff through collaborative and instructional leadership.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of innovation, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute strategically as a member of the school leadership team.
