About the Role:

As the Regional Wellbeing Consultant, you will lead the implementation of key staff wellbeing initiatives and build capability through consultancy services, workshops, presentations and targeted wellbeing strategies.

A significant focus of this role is to support school leaders to embed sustainable practices to manage and respond to occupational violence and aggression (OVA) and psychosocial hazards. 

As a trusted wellbeing specialist, you'll work alongside school leaders, regional teams and key stakeholders to deliver practical, evidence-informed wellbeing strategies that support our workforce through complex and evolving challenges.

You'll bring expertise, empathy and strong professional judgement to help foster resilient, safe and inclusive workplaces where staff feel supported to thrive.

Responsibilities Include:

You will have responsibilities for the following:

  • Lead regional staff wellbeing initiatives and provide expert advice to schools on staff wellbeing matters.
  • Assist school leaders with managing and responding to complex health, safety and wellbeing risks, with a particular focus on occupational violence and aggression (OVA).
  • Provide high-level expertise in trauma-informed and risk-based practices including management of psychosocial hazards, OVA prevention and response.
  • Coordinate and promote health and wellbeing initiatives across the region.
  • Deliver engaging presentations, workshops and training programs, including Psychological First Aid training.
  • Collaborate with schools, regional staff and external stakeholders to support effective wellbeing planning and implementation.
  • Engage with schools regarding staff wellbeing needs analysis, support and action planning sessions.
  • Represent the department at forums and across inter-agency networks relating to staff health, safety and wellbeing.

About You:

It would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach, together with the following:

  • Strong knowledge of workplace wellbeing, psychosocial risk management and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience managing complex wellbeing and safety matters in large or diverse organisations.
  • High-level expertise in complex health, safety and wellbeing matters and the management of psychosocial hazards and OVA prevention and response.
  • High-level communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to influence, build capability and foster positive workplace culture.
  • A commitment to safe, inclusive and healthy workplaces.
