About the Role:
This role involves providing professional support to students, staff, and families to enhance student well-being, engagement, and academic success. The successful candidate will deliver counselling services, assist with career and educational planning, and support the development of inclusive practices within the school community.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Provide counselling, advocacy, psychoeducational assessment, and personalised support to students, while offering guidance to teachers and parents on educational, behavioural, mental health, family, and career-related matters.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and build effective partnerships with families, school staff, and external agencies to deliver coordinated case management, referral pathways, and student support services.
- Assess student learning, behavioural, developmental, and emotional needs through observation and psychoeducational assessment, and recommend appropriate educational adjustments, interventions, and individualised support plans.
- Support schools in implementing student wellbeing, behaviour management, gifted education, student protection, risk management, and transition programs, including intensive behaviour support and reintegration into mainstream education.
- Deliver career development and future pathway counselling, maintain ethical and confidential record-keeping practices, and contribute to professional learning and training programs for school communities.
