This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative leadership team and contribute to key teaching and learning priorities, particularly across the critical Years 7 and 8 phase of learning.

About the Role

As Head of Department, you will lead and strengthen teaching and learning across Years 7 and 8, ensuring students experience engaging, high-quality learning that supports future success.

You will work closely with teachers and school leaders to drive improvement initiatives, build staff capability and promote a culture of high expectations and professional growth. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum implementation and teaching and learning improvement initiatives.
  • Use data-informed practices to monitor progress and improve student outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor and support teachers to strengthen classroom practice.
  • Build staff capability through collaboration, professional learning and feedback.
  • Lead teams and manage resources to support school improvement priorities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, equity and inclusion.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, families and community stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of departmental policies and legislative requirements.
