Wavell State High School is seeking a passionate and innovative individual to join our HPE Faculty as a Teacher Aide. Working closely with the Heads of Department for HPE and Sport & Sports Excellence, you will support a range of
programs including HPE curriculum, school sport, Sports Excellence Programs, and Northern Edge District Interschool Sport. The successful applicant will have strong organisational, communication, and IT skills, along with a sound
understanding of sport and sporting environments. The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced school setting is essential. If you are motivated, organised, and passionate about supporting student success through

This is a temporary part-time position for the period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

Your Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisted teachers and students with sporting activities, excursions, classroom learning, literacy and numeracy programs, science demonstrations, cooking and textile classes, and supported individual and small-group learning activities.
- Provided administrative and clerical support including compiling class rolls, maintaining student records, preparing and photocopying teaching materials, collating examination papers and results, checking bus lists, and assisting with the organisation of off-site activities.
- Supported the preparation, distribution, storage, maintenance and stocktaking of teaching resources, equipment and materials, including care of equipment, laundering linens, and sourcing materials required for classroom activities.
- Fostered positive relationships with students, families and staff through effective communication, teamwork, confidentiality, reliability, empathy and sensitivity, particularly when supporting students with diverse and high-level needs.
- Assisted with student welfare, health and safety through playground and bus supervision, first aid support, collection of activity payments, maintenance of student development records, and contribution to a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Supported students with additional needs by assisting with mobility, positioning, meals, toileting, dressing, accessing learning resources, reading activities, and the use of technology to enhance engagement and participation in educational programs.
