About the School
Virginia State School is a well-established primary school in the northern Brisbane suburbs within the Metropolitan Region.
The school serves a diverse and growing community, with a strong focus on inclusive education, wellbeing and student engagement from Prep to Year 6.
Staff work in partnership with families and the wider community to support positive outcomes for all students.
About the Role
The ideal applicant will:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support through the Special Education Program (SEP) and/or Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP)
- Lead the SEP/ECDP to provide expert advice to classroom teachers supporting students with disability
- Provide high-level advice to school leadership, teachers and staff to plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments
- Coordinate intensive and targeted teaching for students requiring additional intervention
- Lead case management for students requiring extensive or substantial adjustments
- Support access to departmental and external specialist services, professional learning and additional supports for staff
- Contribute to school decision-making processes and professional learning aligned with school goals, vision and planning
- Implement and coordinate school-wide systems, including data systems and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
- Build and maintain partnerships with parents, government agencies and community organisations to support students with disability
- Manage human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve program and school priorities
