About the Role
As the Industry Liaison Officer your role will include (but will not necessarily be limited to) the following areas and responsibilities:
Industry engagement and partnership development
- Proactively engage with industry, businesses, training providers, and apprenticeship support agencies to source School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), work experience placements, and vocational placement opportunities for our students.
- Develop and maintain strong, productive partnerships with employers, RTOs, government agencies, and community organisations.
- Provide high-level client support to industry partners and establish feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external bodies including WorkSafe Queensland regarding White Card processes.
Student support
- Provide guidance and oversight of the school's work experience program, including identifying placement opportunities, monitoring student participation and workplace visits, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, and managing required documentation and records.
- Monitor student progress in VET programs and follow up with students and families as required.
- Provide support to students with developing resumes, completing job applications, preparing for interviews, and building employability skills.
- Attend SET Planning interviews and other events to support students and families as needed.
Program promotion and community engagement
- Promote employment and training opportunities to students.
- Develop and coordinate engagement activities and vocational events.
- Maintain and update the school Jobs Board and lead other promotional opportunities in the VET space.
Data management, reporting, compliance and administration report
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date VET student data within OneSchool, QCAA Student Management and Pathways.
- Manage enrolments, attendance tracking, and course adjustments for external courses, apprenticeships and traineeships, and school-based subjects and courses.
- Support the RTO Manager to ensure compliance including documentation, sign-off and storage.
- Run reports as required by HODs Senior Schooling and VET.
- Assist in tracking student progress towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
- Support Blue Card processes, liaising with students, families and Centrelink as required.
- Respond to VET-related enquiries via phone and email.
- Maintain secure storage and management of vocational records.
