We are seeking a passionate and committed instructional leader for the position of Head of Department - English (Locally known as Leader of Learning - English).

Central to the role is leading Junior Secondary English and working in collaboration with our current Leader of Learning English.

This position is temporary for Semester 2, 2026 with possibility of extension.

Pride Leader:
 
As a Head of Department, the successful applicant will have a responsibility as a Pride Leader for selected students in Burnet House.
 
This responsibility involves tracking, monitoring and actioning engagement data (attendance and behaviour) and support the wellbeing of students in two Pride Classes through our vertical house structure.
 
The key areas of responsibility for this role are:
 
Curriculum delivery:
  •  Lead curriculum, teaching and learning of the faculty to deliver quality learning outcomes for all students
  • Track and monitor student academic progress in Junior Secondary
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, external providers and the wider college community
