We are seeking a proactive and experienced Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator to support our amazing school.

About the Role:

  • Continuously improve the local implementation of the department's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Provide support to the nominated schools in health and safety including risk management, incident reporting and review and the rehabilitation and return to work coordination of ill or injured staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support on workplace health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Partner with school, regional and corporate teams to ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS).
  • Coordinate risk management, audits, inspections, emergency preparedness and fire safety compliance.
  • Support injury management, rehabilitation and return to work for ill or injured staff.
  • Monitor WHS data to identify trends, manage risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver health and safety training, inductions and awareness programs to build a positive safety culture.
  • Support the management of workplace incidents, including occupational violence and aggression.
  • Prepare reports and provide recommendations to inform health and safety decision-making.
  • Coordinate health and safety responses during critical incidents.
