Lead curriculum and instructional practice at Narangba Valley State School as Head of Department - Curriculum in a temporary full-time opportunity commencing 21 January to 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

Working in partnership with a second Head of Department - Curriculum, you will lead curriculum, teaching and learning across either Prep-Year 2 or Years 3-6, building teacher capability and strengthening whole-school consistency.

This is an opportunity to build teacher capability, use student learning data to drive improvement and strengthen consistency in curriculum practice across the school.

This is a temporary full-time position for the 2027 school year, commencing 21 January until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About us:

Narangba Valley State School is a Prep to Year 6 school in the Moreton Bay Region, approximately 40 minutes north of Brisbane. The school works collaboratively to deliver high-quality teaching and learning and support positive outcomes for its students.

Your opportunity:

Lead curriculum and instructional improvement across Prep-Year 6, working alongside a second HOD/C to strengthen consistency in curriculum, teaching and learning.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Build teacher capability through mentoring, coaching, professional learning and collaborative planning.
  • Lead Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and use student learning data to drive improvement.
  • Support the implementation of Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 through the three levels of planning.
  • Strengthen the connection between student needs and data, Setting Professional Goals (SPG), the school's Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) and teachers' responsive day-to-day classroom practice.
