Deception Bay State High School is seeking an innovative leader with high relational skills and a systematic, methodical way of working to lead our innovative Vocation Education ad Training department. This leadership role will oversee the delivery, quality and compliance of VET programs, provide strategic direction for the department, and foster strong partnerships with industry, training organisations and the wider school community.

The position is being offered in a temporary full-time capacity commencing 20 January 2027 until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and expand VET pathways within our school and make a lasting difference to student outcomes.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • As RTO manager, leading VET in line with school/ departmental initiatives and RTO compliance
  • Leading curriculum implementation across several qualifications including the effective teaching, assessment and compliance of VET qualifications
  • Line management of the Flexible Learning Program "Futures" from years 7-12
  • Line management of coordinators and progression monitoring for a range of students involved in VET qualifications
  • Develop quality pedagogy with VET Trainers and VET Expert Team
  • Other RTO management responsibilities in accordance with ASQA and QCAA requirements
