Business Manager - Sandgate State School

Sandgate State School is seeking a capable, organised and people-focused Business Manager to support the effective day-to-day operation of our school. Work closely with the Principal and leadership team to support financial, administrative, HR and facilities operations. We are seeking an organised, proactive and solutions-focused professional with strong interpersonal skills. You will be able to manage competing priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and build positive relationships across the school community.

Your opportunity:

As the Business Manager you will manage the delivery of a range of corporate services, support educational management activities and lead the development of systemic change by actively supporting the school management team and school community. You will oversee the delivery of administrative, financial and human resources support, including the supervision of lower level school support staff and influencing stakeholders on sensitive issues.

This is a job share position. Key skills needed include, strong communication, flexibility and collaboration. Previous OneSchool and primary school experience recommended.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate school business, administration and corporate services.
  • Support the Principal with budget management, purchasing, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Supervise and coordinate school support staff, including recruitment, induction, rosters, leave and performance.
  • Oversee facilities, grounds, maintenance, contractors and school resources.
  • Provide high-level administrative support, problem-solving and advice to the Principal.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, families, community representatives and external providers.
  • Ensure business operations comply with legislation, departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, resources and service delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, empathy, leadership and decision-making skills.
