Dakabin State High School is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and collaborative Science Technician to join our Science team.
Join the Dakabin State High School team and help us provide safe, engaging and inspiring practical science experiences for our students.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.60FTE), 43.5 hours per fortnight until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

Working closely alongside our existing Science Technician, you will be an important part of a cooperative laboratory team supporting our teachers and students. We are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys sharing responsibilities and can work collaboratively to ensure our laboratories operate safely, efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities Include:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • The ability to coordinate tasks, share workloads, plan ahead and support their colleague during busy periods.
  • You will assist with preparing practical experiments, organising and maintaining equipment and resources, managing laboratory supplies, and ensuring appropriate safety procedures are followed.

We value someone who is reliable, flexible and proactive, who can work independently when required while also recognising that great laboratory support comes from strong communication, mutual respect and teamwork.
