Health Information Management Services are looking for several Clinical Coders to join their team in a Part Time or Full time capacity. Clinical coding is the assignment of alphanumeric and numeric codes to all diseases and procedures an in-patient has during their episode of care. Coding Services assigns diagnoses and procedure codes to all hospital inpatient episodes. This information is used for many purposes including epidemiological research, establishing clinical benchmarks, resource allocation and health planning.

About the Role

• Accurately assign morbidity and procedural classifications to in-patient episodes
• Actively support the improvement of clinical coding accuracy by participating in quality activities relating to morbidity data collection; including DRG and coding audits, end of month data validation processes, clinical documentation queries, system, and other quality activities as required.
• Maintain strong knowledge of anatomy, clinical disease processes, diagnostic and procedural terminology together with coding related systems, standards, and Activity Based Funding
