Metro South Health is the major provider of public healthcare services, and health education and research, in the Brisbane south side, Logan, Redlands and Scenic Rim regions. About Princess Alexandra Hospital

Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre, providing care in all major adult specialties to patients throughout Queensland and Australia, except for obstetrics. We are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres, providing Clinical Service Capability Framework (CSCF) Level 6 services, with approximately 1,033 beds and bed alternatives.

PAH is nationally recognised for expertise in trauma management, and we are a major transplantation centre for livers, kidneys, bone, cartilage, and corneas. We also have responsibility for a number of state-wide services including Queensland Liver Transplant Service, Queensland Tissue Bank, Queensland Spinal Cord Injury Service. PAH's clinical excellence is demonstrated in national databases for chronic renal failure, renal transplantation, liver transplantation, cardio-thoracic surgery and vascular surgery.

About the role

Following a functional realignment, we are recruiting a new Divisional Director to lead our Cancer Services. The Division of Cancer is a highly developed, multidisciplinary cancer service providing tertiary and quaternary level, comprehensive adult cancer services for Metro South Health and the wider Queensland community for a range of cancer related conditions with further expansion of the service to include Paediatric radiation oncology services.

The Divisional Director provides high level strategic and operational executive leadership as part of the PAH Executive team. 

About you

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader, who can position the PAH to respond to the changing healthcare needs and priorities of the community over the next decade.

The successful candidate will have strong human resource and financial management expertise, be calm under pressure and be an inspiring, highly motivated and pragmatic leader. 

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate: -

  • Executive leadership with accountability for clinical practice, activities standards and outcomes in line with strategic and operational plans and service targets
  • Achievement of organisational and professional targets, KPI's and service outcomes
  • Expertise in change management, implementation and evaluation
  • Expertise in management of emergent/crisis situations
  • High level knowledge and ability to analyse concepts and strategies and high level conceptual and problem-solving ability
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, negotiation, consultation and communication skills
  • The ability to promote the values and priorities of the organisation throughout the workforce
