Queensland Voluntary Assisted Dying (QVAD) Support Service are looking for Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team. Metro South Health hosts the QVAD Support and Pharmacy Service on behalf of Queensland Health. VAD gives eligible people diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, who are suffering intolerably and dying, an additional end-of-life choice by allowing them to choose the timing and circumstances of their death.

About the Role 

• Provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of VAD. The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the wider health care team support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of VAD.
• Maintain high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to inform and train the healthcare team of clinical practice updates and research findings within QVAD Support.
• Utilise advanced clinical skills and expertise to support nurses in patient care planning, delivery and education.
• Collaborate with and supports other members of the QVAD Support team to deliver safe clinical practice in alignment with organisation goals and unit priorities.
