Metro South Addictions and Mental Health Service are looking for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Forensic Liaison Officer to join their team. This unit delivers a broad range of specialist addiction and mental health services within the Metro South catchment. These include community-based ambulatory and residential services, the care services in the community, psychiatric rehabilitation, consultation-liaison to hospital wards and emergency departments and addiction services. This role provides clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Forensic Liaison clinical services.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Forensic Liaison clinical services. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider NORTH continuing care team to support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Forensic Mental Health.
- Responsible for clinical leadership for Forensic Mental Health services through the application of advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competency according to contemporary practice and standards of care.
- Maintain high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to inform and train the healthcare team of clinical practice updates and research findings within Forensic Mental Health area.
- Utilise advanced clinical skills and expertise to support nurses in patient care planning, delivery and education.
