Metro South Oral Health Service are looking for several Dental Assistants to join their team. This role contributes by providing a high standard of dental assistance to the work performance of dental teams that are responsible for the provision of a high standard of general and specialist oral health care to all eligible clients within a service developmental framework. Multiple positions are available, both permanent and temporary, full time or part time. This position is required to work across several other facilities across Metro South Hospital and Health Services.

About the Role

• Preparation of equipment, instruments and materials utilised in a variety of dental procedures including knowledge and understanding of the stages within a dental procedure and the ability to pre-plan and adapt as treatment proceeds and perform four-handed dentistry, chair-side assistance, and surgery management of stock.
• Monitoring of and assisting the operator in the management of patient well-being and anxiety level and an awareness of medical conditions.
• Assist in the prevention, identification, and management of medical emergencies.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer systems (ISOH), electronic records using FDI, Palmers Notation, dental specific language and terminology, and forensic charting.
