Clinical / Technical
- Apply advanced clinical reasoning, knowledge, principles and practices to develop, implement and evaluate complex and interrelated allied health service planning initiatives and projects to achieve organisational goals for improved clinical outcomes.
- Broad knowledge of Allied Health clinical service provision.
- Lead targeted research and development regarding allied health service planning initiatives relevant to QSCIS educational resources and the broader health services network.
- Investigate and research alternative models of care/service delivery and recommend effective redesign options suitable to the clinical, geographic and fiscal context of Metro South Health.
- Seek to publish methodology and findings in peer reviewed literature and conference presentations.
- The role will coordinate the design and implementation of 2 new educational modules to the QSCIS Knowledge Hub, namely musculoskeletal and assistive technology.
- The role be required to plan, execute and evaluate project deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

- Demonstrates high level communication skills to facilitate working collaboratively with other interprofessional team members and stakeholder groups to achieve common vision, direction and project outcomes.
- Communicate with influence and use interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills to develop and cultivate producing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a complex and changing environment.
- Use high level negotiation, conflict management, advocacy and change management skills to facilitate the achievement of project outcomes.
- Identify all appropriate stakeholders and guide and inform all stakeholders of current project objectives and outcomes.
- Provide high level advice and prepare complex and sensitive reports, briefings, policy papers, submissions and other documentation as required to senior departmental management and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide a secretariat function for project meetings, including collating and quality checks of meeting papers, assistance with annual calendar and planning activities, as required.
Leadership
- Lead the operation, organisation and culture change associated with the investment in and implementation of innovative approaches to improve patient flow and inpatient and outpatient services.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the political, human resource and financial pressures and constraints that impact service delivery and recommend courses of action which achieve optimal outcomes within those constraints and deliver agreed strategy to patients and students.
- Provide high level and timely advice on the resolution of emergent issues that may require innovative and targeted responses including the development of models of care, briefs, reports and correspondence to management.
Service Improvement
- Initiate, lead and manage agreed strategic service planning initiatives as delegated by the Medical Director of the Department of Rehabilitation.
- Increase organisational awareness and effectiveness by identifying initiatives with similar business and /or clinical objectives, and connecting interprofessional stakeholders with common interests, both inside and external to Metro South Health.
