Home Training Haemodialysis Unit (HTHU) are looking for a Clinical Nurse to join their team. HTHU consists of 9 haemodialysis stations for the provision of training and respite dialysis to support established home patients and their families. The service is the largest in Queensland with a current patient population of around 90 patients. The sustainability of home dialysis is achieved through education and joint decision making which supports patient choice, independence and self-management. In addition to the home haemodialysis service a further 12 chronic hospital dialysis patients are provided treatment and care in the training unit.

About the Role 

• Delegate to and supervises Registered Nurses (RN's), and undergraduate students as required consistent with the NMBA decision making framework and CN standards for practice.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competence in HTHU nursing practice and theory.
• Responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other Information Technology systems; once proficient remain current with changes, updates, and contingencies.
• Demonstrate advanced experience in managing patient care within resources, demonstrating problem solving expertise to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Appointees will be required to participate in an on-call roster.
