Recovery, Resource and Partnerships Team are looking for a Mental Health Intervention Coordinator - Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist to join their team. The Recovery Resource and Partnerships Team is a multidisciplinary team operating across three community sites that provides specialist direct and indirect care as required to strengthen systems across Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services. The role delivers advanced Mental Health consultation services to stakeholders/consumers within Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research.

About the Role

The Mental Health Intervention Coordinator (MHIC) role is a specialist position based on a consultation and liaison model of service between Metro South Addiction & Mental Health Services (MSAMHS), Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). The MHIC promotes, coordinates, and reviews the operational, clinical, and educational requirements of the Mental Health Intervention Program (MHIP) and the Tri Agency Partnership between MSAMHS, QPS and QAS. The position will provide in reach services to Logan, Woolloongabba & Redlands services. The MHIC role provides an advanced level of consultation and liaison to stakeholders within the program to increase the capacity of district services to reduce and respond to mental health crisis situations. This is achieved through a high level of communication, collaborative service and community development, assessment and support, crisis intervention, training, and evaluation.     

The purpose of this position is to provide specialised clinical and consultancy services within Recovery, Resource and Partnerships Team /service. The position delivers advanced Mental Health consultation services to stakeholders/consumers within Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research.

This includes:

  • Demonstrating advanced clinical skills in the area of mental health practice
  • Providing service wide mental health clinical and professional advice on specialised clinical areas and service delivery models in the area of the Mental Health Intervention Program.
  • Including taking a lead role in skill development of less experienced staff.
