Recovery, Resource and Partnerships Team are looking for a Mental Health Intervention Coordinator - Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team. Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS) provide inpatient, hospital-based and community mental health and community alcohol and drug services for all age groups at a number of campuses across Metro South Health. The service is committed to the provision of services that are patient centred and recovery focussed. The role is a specialist position based on a consultation and liaison model of service between MSAMHS, Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide advanced level clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of the Mental Health Intervention Program (MHIP). The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Team Leader Recovery, Resource and Partnerships Team (RRPT), Nursing/Community Director, and wider Access Services health care team. The MHIC CNC supports the service, in the provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Mental Health Intervention Coordination.
The Mental Health Intervention Coordinator (MHIC) position is a specialist position based on a consultation and liaison model of service between Metro South Addiction & Mental Health Services (MSAMHS), Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). The MHIC promotes, coordinates, and reviews the operational, clinical, and educational requirements of the Mental Health Intervention Program (MHIP) and the Tri Agency Partnership between MSAMHS, QPS and QAS. The position will provide in reach services to Logan, Woolloongabba & Redlands services. The MHIC role provides an advanced level of consultation and liaison to stakeholders within the program to increase the capacity of district services to reduce and respond to mental health crisis situations. This is achieved through a high level of communication, collaborative service and community development, assessment and support, crisis intervention, training, and evaluation.
