Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their team. This unit is a 64 bed unit facility which falls within Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS). The multidisciplinary team aims to provide high quality, safe, patient focused specialised mental health and drug and alcohol care to patients who are usually over the age of 18 years, and who present with severe mental illness or are at risk of developing severe mental illness. This role delivers senior Occupational Therapy services within Logan Hospital Acute Mental Health Wards.

About the Role

• Manage an allocated workload to deliver Occupational Therapy services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within an interprofessional team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
• Acts as a clinical reference point with the Multidiscplinary team and responds to every-day clinical demands.
• Collaborate on and undertake the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and protocols within Inpatient Services.
• Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to Occupational Therapy complex decision making with only occasional clinical/professional supervision.
