The Food Services Department are looking for several Food Services Assistants to join their team. The role of food service at QEII hospital is to provide a variety of food that is nutritious and well prepared in a safe and sanitary environment that meets the financial obligation of the department while meeting the needs of our clients and is served in a pleasing and attractive manner. The Food Services department will strive to meet the social, cultural, religious, and psychological needs of our clients in meal planning and service.

About the Role
- Maintain work areas to the required standards of food safety, cleanliness and state of repair in accordance with the Food Safety Legislation, Food Service Standards and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Effectively communicate with and display care and consideration when dealing with patients, staff, volunteers and general public ensuring all work related information remains strictly confidential.
- Actively participate in the day to day food preparation activities of a food services department, including receipt and storage of goods as per the imprest systems provided, assembly and distribution of meals and menu items, functions and retail outlets.
- Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
