Occupational Therapy Department are looking for a Leisure Therapy - Senior to join their Spinal Injury Unit (SIU). The primary function of the Division is to provide high quality clinical, teaching and research services that support the activities of the Divisions of Surgery, Medicine, Cancer, and Rehabilitation. The SIU is managed within the Division of Rehabilitation at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH). As a state-wide service PAH SIU is the sole specialised SCI inpatient service in Queensland with expertise in acute treatment and super specialty rehabilitation for people with traumatic and non-congenital/ non traumatic SCI.

About the Role

• Manage an allocated workload to deliver Leisure Therapy services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within an interprofessional team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
• Contribute to the advancement of quality Leisure Therapy services and optimal patient care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.
• Monitoring and reporting on work practices and outcomes, including initiating, planning and evaluating relevant quality and research initiatives.
• Providing supervision and training to less experienced (HP3) clinicians, students and to Allied Health Assistants.
