About the Role

The position delivers advanced perioperative services to stakeholders/consumers within Princess Alexandra Hospital to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research. This includes implementing and monitoring operational activities and leading professional governance activities for a team of Pharmacists and support staff.

• Deliver specialised perioperative pharmacy clinical and consultancy services to Princess Alexandra Hospital
• Deliver advanced clinical and consultancy services to the following services : Pharmacy, Division of Surgery, and other surgical specialities  in accordance with accepted professional practices, legal and ethical requirements with a high degree of independence.
• Apply advanced level independent professional judgment regarding the assessment and treatment planning of complex patients.
• Demonstrate high-level clinical leadership and mentoring support to problem solve urgent and emergent complex clinical issues.
• Foster a culture that delivers safe, patient-centred and compassionate care considering each patient's psychological, social, emotional, spiritual and physical care.

Understand and apply current evidence and emerging treatment options for the management of patients in the perioperative setting (including preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
