About the Role
The purpose of this position is to provide specialised clinical and consultancy services within the statewide Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS), QuickStart/service. The position delivers advanced Psychology and interdisciplinary spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation clinical support services to stakeholders/consumers within Queensland (QLD) to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research.
This includes:
- Demonstrating advanced clinical skills in the area of spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation along the lifespan for people with SCI throughout QLD. Support is offered by proactive in-reach to non-specialist SCI hospital settings, delivered through telehealth, in person visiting, phone, email and educational events to patients and the clinicians who care for them. Proactive means providing support to identify and avoid problems and improve outcomes.
- Providing service wide Psychology clinical and professional advice on specialised clinical areas and service delivery models in the area of rehabilitation for people with SCI, for their significant others and for the health professionals and disability service providers who work with them. Including taking a lead role in skill development of less experienced staff.
